When Democrats talk about racism who is their prime target white people White people are not the target of racism. They re the beneficiaries. We talk about where white people stand because all too often, white people ignore their own role (which is something they can do, because they have *privilege* -- people of any other color are confronted with it day in, and day out.) if a conversation needs to be made the uncomfortable truth needs to be brought out. Actually, people are able to be more outspoken now than they ever have before. The only opinions that are being fought against are those that promote inequity and inequality -- and, by the way, nobody is stopping anybody from presenting them. They re just getting more and more socially unacceptable. Stop glamoring the Democratic party or demonizing the Republican party or vise versa. I ve never glamorized the Democratic party -- I just tend to vote for them because the Republican party is repugnant. I ll gladly change my mind on that statement when they stop bringing hypocritical
